Black Friday Janitor Mall Areas Checklist
Source-backed Black Friday Janitor area names plus a route and completion worksheet for the main area, south wing, east wing and restroom area.
Questions answered
Which mall areas have completion achievements?
Does the achievement list reveal every store location?
The Steam achievement catalog confirms four named mall areas with complete-every-task goals. Those names are reliable route headings, but they are not a complete floor plan. The achievement text does not tell us where every store sits, where one wing begins or ends, or how every corridor connects.
That distinction matters because a confident-looking but invented map is worse than an incomplete map with honest evidence labels.
The four confirmed completion areas
| Area | Completion achievement | Published requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Main Area | A Warm Welcome | Complete every task in the main area |
| South Wing | South-Side | Complete every task in the south wing |
| East Wing | Where the Sun Rises | Complete every task in the east wing |
| Restroom Area | Still doesn’t smell that nice | Complete every task in the restroom area |
These names come from the published Steam achievements. The absence of a fifth area achievement does not prove that no other descriptive labels, transition spaces or internal subareas exist.
What is confirmed versus still unknown?
Confirmed
- the four area names above;
- each area has a complete-every-task achievement;
- the game separately has 18 named store-completion achievements;
- official screenshots show several storefront relationships and landmarks;
- individual stores and mall sections have their own task-tracking context, according to player reports.
Not confirmed by the achievement list
- exact area boundaries;
- which of the 18 stores belongs to which area;
- floor numbering;
- every escalator or staircase connection;
- compass orientation for each corridor;
- exact coordinates for store entrances.
The mall map planner records screenshot-backed storefront relationships without converting them into unsupported wing assignments.
How to map an area without guessing
Use one repeatable capture method.
- Enter the area and record the exact in-game area name.
- Choose a permanent landmark at the entry point.
- Take or record an outward-facing view from that landmark.
- List only the stores you can actually see or reach while the same area label is active.
- Note vertical movement separately from horizontal corridor travel.
- Mark transition points where the area/task context changes.
- Revisit the same route in the opposite direction.
- Add the store-to-area relationship only after it is observed consistently.
This method produces slower map growth, but every added connection is auditable.
Main Area worksheet
The achievement A Warm Welcome confirms that a Main Area exists and can be completed.
For a clean route log, record:
- the landmark you use as the Main Area starting point;
- every visible store entrance encountered before the area changes;
- any atrium, seating or corridor space counted by the area’s task list;
- which task type remains when the area is almost complete;
- the exact transition point into another named area.
Do not automatically equate the “central atrium” seen in official screenshots with the full Main Area. The screenshot is a useful landmark; the achievement label is a task region. They need direct in-game evidence before being treated as identical.
South Wing worksheet
South-Side confirms the South Wing completion goal.
A useful South Wing note should include:
- the first sign or junction that clearly places you in the wing;
- store entrances encountered while the South Wing task context remains active;
- whether the route has one level or requires vertical travel;
- the last task type remaining before completion;
- the boundary where another area begins.
Avoid assigning a store to South Wing from name, theme or screenshot lighting alone.
East Wing worksheet
Where the Sun Rises confirms the East Wing name.
Because “east” sounds directional, it is tempting to orient the entire mall from that label. Do not build a compass map until an in-game orientation or complete route supports it.
Instead, record:
- the observed entry point;
- the sequence of permanent landmarks;
- stores reached without leaving the area;
- any branch corridors;
- the exit transition;
- completion state after each pass.
That gives the future annotated map usable topology without pretending we know north/south/east/west for every screenshot.
Restroom Area worksheet
Still doesn’t smell that nice confirms a Restroom Area completion target.
Treat it as its own audit region rather than assuming restroom tasks belong to the nearest store or wing. A compact area can be harder to finish if small rubbish or spills are hidden by fixtures.
Before leaving:
- trace wall edges;
- check around stalls/fixtures visible in the active area;
- make a separate floor pass for spills;
- inspect any fallen movable objects;
- confirm the area task state before returning to the main route.
The public achievement text does not define the exact restroom boundary, so the page deliberately does not invent one.
Store-to-area mapping table
When recording your own run, use a table like this:
| Store | Area observed | Level | Nearest permanent landmark | Evidence date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example | Record in game | Record in game | Sign / junction / atrium | YYYY-MM-DD |
Copy the official store names from the store directory. Do not fill the area column from memory unless you can reproduce the route.
How to audit an area before expecting the achievement
Run four separate checks.
Products
Look for misplaced products in stores and near entrances. Keep uncertain items local until the destination is known.
Rubbish
Trace walls, seating, corners and high-clutter spaces.
Spills
Re-scan cleared floor after rubbish and products no longer obstruct the view.
Fallen objects
Inspect furniture, signs and display silhouettes from another angle.
Then compare the in-game task state with the area achievement. The cleaning guide provides the same task-by-task audit at store scale.
How official screenshots help
Official Steam promotional images already support several useful relationships:
- ABC Cinema and Peers share a central-atrium sightline.
- The Boardroom and Home Run face the same photographed corridor.
- Art & Craft and Appliances Galore appear across the same upper opening.
- Looksee and Sandpiper Shoes are adjacent.
- Lavenne Beauty is visible along a fountain corridor.
These are valuable landmarks. They are not yet enough to assign each cluster to Main Area, South Wing or East Wing. The mall map keeps those two evidence layers separate.
What should be captured next?
The highest-value evidence is not another isolated storefront screenshot. It is a sequence that connects known clusters:
- area name/task UI visible;
- junction or landmark visible;
- route to the next known storefront;
- transition into the next area;
- reverse-direction confirmation.
Once those sequences exist, the site can publish a real topological mall map instead of a collection of guesses.
Evidence and limitations
Confirmed by Steam achievements: Main Area, South Wing, East Wing and Restroom Area each have a complete-every-task goal. Confirmed by official imagery: several storefront and landmark relationships documented on the mall-map page. Player-reported: stores and sections expose useful local task tracking. Not confirmed: complete store-to-area assignments, exact boundaries, full floor connectivity, compass orientation and precise coordinates.
